What is Luna Luna?

Luna Luna is a one-woman business, founded and run by Anita Smith. Dedicated to making clothes that make people feel comfortable in their own bodies without scrimping on style or quality, each design is thoughtfully created and carefully considered in terms of silhouette, fit and fabric – with subtle details that make each item special, understated, and effortlessly stylish. With the inside mattering as much as the outside, Luna Luna pieces last. The fit and the quality are always prioritised.

These are pieces you choose to wear on repeat, that you reach for when you’re not sure what to wear - because you feel good in them, because they work with everything else in your wardrobe, and because they’re made especially for you.

The whole process of your order - from designing to sourcing and cutting the fabric, sewing the pieces together, hand-stitching the final details, and packaging and posting your pieces - is in the hands of one person, with ultimate care and attention paid to every detail. Every piece is designed and made in Manchester by Anita.

Who is Luna Luna?

As for the person behind Luna Luna, Anita has been passionate about clothing and design from a young age. A childhood spent drawing fantastical outfits and watching her mum sew clothes at the dining room table led to a Fashion Degree, and later to setting up her own business after working as a teacher for a number of years. Luna Luna’s namesake is Anita’s beautiful rescue dog, who regularly features on her social media.

Anita’s love of sewing grew from a drive to make clothes that reflect her style and fit her body. Knowing what it’s like to not fit in with the current trends and what big brands have to offer, to try things on and feel like they weren’t made for her body type, she is driven to offer the same joy and expression she has found in her pieces to others.

Through made-to-order clothing and sewing workshops, Anita’s dream with Luna Luna is to help people feel great when they get dressed, whether she made the clothes or helped them make their own.

Sustainability

All Luna Luna clothing is made using natural or deadstock fabrics, sourced in the UK.

Clothing is made-to-order - this means that there is no stock sitting around, no bulk orders of fabric that could go unused. Your piece only starts being made once you order it, which is why production takes a few weeks.

All pieces are made in Anita’s studio in Manchester, from start to finish - so you know where your order is, and who is handling it.
